Evaluating the Enemy
Book Six of the Cybertronian Histories
Galvatron’s trusted 2IC, Cyclonus, and the Sweeps pursues the Female Autobots across open ground. Firestar is separated from the rest of her team, as a large building collapses causing the ground beneath her to open. Coming back to the surface, she is chased again when shots are fired at her pursuers. Still, not knowing what was going on, Firestar continues running until the ground disappears out from under her. Realization hits as she figures out she ran off a sheer drop cliff into a huge crevice. Suddenly, she is grabbed midair and panics when she sees the Decepticon crest on the chest of her rescuer. Without taking time to think, she shoots the seeker in the shoulder. He cries in pain as he struggles to maintain his grip and keep them in the air from a horrible death. Spinning into a controlled crash landing, he skids on the ground on his back absorbing more of the impact for Firestar. Coming to a jarring halt, Firestar leaps away shaken and keeps her weapon pointed at the down Decepticon. The crimson mech painfully turns over onto his knees and supporting himself with his good arm. He just stars at the femme in disbelief and asks if that’s always how she thanks people who save her. Confused, Firestar finally understands this same mech chased off the pursuing Decepticons from earlier.
The seeker finally manages to convince the Autobot that he won’t hurt her and introduces himself as Dreadheart. Slowly, these two make their way on the ground to the reconstruction site of Deacon. Firestar also becomes intrigued by this Decepticon when she sees both Autobots and Decepticons working together and looking to him for leadership. Firestar would discover that this chance encounter would her lead down a path she never counted on.
